In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Fiqh Lately: We have been studying the chapter of transactions...
And now reading this....
[Surah At-Tawbah: 111]
“Allah has indeed purchased from the believers their lives and wealth in exchange for Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allah and kill or are killed. This is a true promise binding on Him in the Torah, the Gospel, and the Quran. And whose promise is truer than Allah’s? So rejoice in the exchange you have made with Him. That is ˹truly˺ the ultimate triumph."
It adds a layer. For a transaction, you need a proposal and an acceptance. And somewhere between the two, there is a choice
The offer on the table...
"Want Jannah? 'Sell' yourself to Allah"
To sell yourself is to submit to Him.
After a transaction, the seller has no rights to the product any more.
See where you give in to your nafs, see where you hold back, see where you choose other than Allah ﷻ…
Also, notice how it uses the past tense in the ayah. Deal is done already.
And Allah ﷻ doesn't break His covenant.
So would you be the one who goes back on your word 🤔?
Do our choices reflect the deal of a lifetime?
May Allah ﷻ count us among the successful. Amīn.
